Caramel Apple Pork: Review

Pork and apples go together like chocolate and peanut butter – delicious on their own, a fantastic experience when put together! I mean, the combination is a classic, and it’s not hard to see why. Especially when you can put them together in a dish like this; and this one didn’t even start off with me thinking about apples or pork. No, instead I wanted to make a really great caramelized onion dish. I love caramelized onions and was really craving them one night (isn’t that weird??) It was around suppertime, which was perfect, and so finding apples and pork in my fridge, the dish was born!

This is so, so tasty and pretty simple to bring together. Brent, who hates sauce or gravy of any kind, was actually dipping his pork into that which was left on the platter and my girls really loved the savoury apples, saying that they actually tasted “like the apples they had at the fair.” Well, I wouldn’t go that far (and don’t think I’d want to at dinner.) But it’s always nice when you cook something you love, and know that no one will mind if you cook it again!
