Basic Meatballs

Makes about 2 dozen meatballs.

1 pound of ground beef $4.50
1 pound of ground pork $3.25
1 cup bread crumbs $0.42
1 egg, scrambled with a fork $0.17
6 cloves garlic, finely chopped $0.06
2 green onions, finely chopped $0.14
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce $0.12
1 teaspoon dried oregano $0.20
1 teaspoon dried dill $0.51

Total Cost  $9.37

1.) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and cook two 9″x13″ casserole dishes with non-stick cooking spray.

2.) Break up the beef and the pork into a large bowl and add the remaining ingredients to the meat mixture.

3.) Stir, either with a wooden spoon or your hands, the meat mixture until it is well combined.

4.) Loosely form the meat into balls between your two palms. Be sure not to overpack them or make them too dense. As you finish forming them into balls, place them into the prepared casserole dishes. You can space them fairly close together.

5.) Place the dishes into the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, until they are no longer pink in the centre.

6.) Serve (or freeze), and enjoy!
