Kate's Cuisine

Check Me Out!!!

So, yesterday morning I ran out to get my new copy of Woman’s World and I quickly flipped to the section where this tiny little corner of cyberspace was supposed to be mentioned, and….nuthin. Instead, there was a feature article on cookbooks. More than slightly disappointed (well, I had been looking forward to it for 2 months for cryin out loud!), I was tempted to sit down and write a rant about ‘poor me, poor me, poor me.’ Good thing I didn’t because I would’ve looked really stupid! (and a tiny bit pathetic too!) Turns out the writer that interviewed me for the piece was mistaken. She told me the magazine my piece would be in came out on November 9 but instead it came out on November 10. And I just happened to be at the grocery store today, saw there was another edition, scooped it up and flipped to the section. Oh, and there I was!

The actual story (it’s not really a ‘story’ at all but a teeny, tiny blurb) is about a turkey sling which I mention in my Roasted Turkey Tips. More importantly than that, Kate’s Cuisine is actually mentioned by name! Not only does this mean more exposure for the blog but it also means that I get to look at that whenever I want and know that I did that. And who could feel bad about that? Woman’s World did get my name wrong but that actually worked out too because they actually gave me an idea. In the magazine, my last name, which is Beswick, is spelt “Beswisk” so, it’s sort of a play on my last name and the word “whisk.” Hmm…could be a good business name if I ever do anything else with this foodie passion of mine….

Anyways, go pick up your copy of Woman’s World and flip to page 37 where you’ll see the turkey sling, and my little fifteen minutes of fame! And then look at the page beside it (page 36). There’s some holiday recipes there that look heavenly! Or, just wait for me to cook em and tell you what I think!

Hi——–and that’s just where I found you !! I was looking through my magazine today, and love to investigate new blogs. So I went to yours and the others mentioned in the You Desrve The Best article. I knew we would be fast cyber friends when I saw the recipe for Beef Barley Soup. My mom used to make this for us on cold winter days. Thanks for sharing it. I will bookmark your site, and I like the “whisk” play-on-name idea. Have you made any of the recipes from http://www.ThePioneerWoman.com? If yes, please forgive. I haven’t had time to look at all you have archived. Cece

    Hi Cece,
Thanks so much for checking out my little corner of cyberspace! No, I haven’t checked out The Pioneer Woman but, thanks so much for the tip. I’ll definitely have to find my next recipe from there and I love hearing about all the other wonderful kitchen and recipe blogs that are out there. Is that your site? Yes, the Beef Barley Soup is delish and even my family loves it, which is sometimes (okay, more often than not!), very very hard to do. Thanks again for checking me out and for the tip on the great recipe blog! I hope to see you back here and to hear any comments or suggestions that you might have in the future!

No, LOL, it isn’t my site. I am not brave enough to have a site, but I am a site groupie !! The Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond) has a new cookbook out, and it is already the #1 in its category on the NY Times list. I have no affiliation with her, or any site. I do plan to take her cookbook to Atlanta on Dec.7th for her book signing.

Thanks so much for writing back, and I will check your blog out everyday !! Your new fan——Cece
